Air Mail to Congo

On Tuesday morning, I went to FedEx to send a small package next-day delivery to a Wycliffe colleague in North Carolina. He will be flying to Congo on the 14th and will get to hand-deliver the package, which contains 2 USB flash drives and 5 DVDs.

Each DVD contains the complete set of Genesis Bible videos, one for each language in the project: Dondo, Kituba, Mboshi, Ngangulu, and Southwest Teke. The video line-up is: The Creation, Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, Noah and the Flood, The Tower of Babel, Abraham, and Joseph – around 200 minutes of video per disc.

The flash drives contain the finished audio files in MP3 format for all 5 languages: passages covering large portions of Genesis and Exodus to shorter sections in Numbers, Joshua, Judges, 1 Samuel, 1 Kings, and Daniel.

The flash drives also contain all the videos that have been produced to this point, as well as the files needed for burning more of the Genesis DVDs.

Pray that God’s Word, communicated in these audio and video formats, will be widely distributed within the five language communities. Pray that these Bible stories will have an impact on people’s lives as God speaks to them in their own languages.
