In January, after months of prayer, Sara and I decided we would ask to be assigned to work in the “Central Africa Group”, which handles translation work in the countries of Central African Republic, the northwest corner of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, and Republic of Congo. In early February, we received word that our request had been accepted. We finally know where we’re going! Although we could be asked to work in any of these countries in the “Central Africa Group”, in all likelihood we will be starting our work in the Republic of Congo, intitially in the capital city of Brazaville. It has been a long process in making this decision, and we are excited to finally have made it! After Sara finishes her classes this semester, our next destination will be to attend a year or more of French language study in France.
